In 1946 at age 20 while working in the "Inventions Inspection" department of the Caspian Sea flotilla of the Soviet Navy, a young man made a remarkable discovery about how to solve problems.

Aiming to capitalize on his discovery, in 1948, he sent a dangerous letter addressed as follows:

“Personally to Comrade Stalin”

He explained that the approach to solving problems in the USSR was chaotic and filled with ignorance about innovation.

At the end of the letter he made an outrageous statement: There was a method that could revolutionize the world and produce invaluable results.

For this great insight, Stalin banished him to a Siberian Gulag (concentration camp) where he worked 12 hour days. 

After Stalin died in 1953, he was released.  He studied 200,000 patents and discovered there were only 1500 basic problems that could be easily fixed by using the right principles.
He developed a sequence of steps that could solve virtually ANY problem

And lest you think he was just some crackpot angling to score a few easy bucks, you should know that today his sequence of steps for solving problems, It has been reported that car companies Ford and Daimler-Chrysler, Johnson & Johnson, aeronautics companies Boeing, NASA, technology companies Hewlett Packard, Motorola, General Electric, Xerox, IBM, LG, Samsung, Procter and Gamble and Kodak have used his methods in some projects.

The system has spread to over 300 schools around the world, is taught in universities, used by engineers, business people and, yes, marketers around the world.

As crazy as it may sound, this method is now used by CEO's, corporations and engineers around the world.

Yet, I know you've likely already studied problem solving.

Maybe you read the first breakthrough book on problem solving by Alex Osborn called Applied Imagination.

Or you've studied Synectics or even Morphological Analysis.

They don't mail on a repeat basis for you because the first email skims off the best buyers. Which means the second email will bring in a lot less orders than sending an email for someone else's new product.

How can you get affiliates to send out more emails for your products when they're going to make less money for doing it?

A company purchases 750 gallson (3000 liters) of sunflower oil that is delivered via tank cars on a railroad.

Yet, in spite of the fact that seals on the upper hatch show no leakage, every delivery is short 30 liters. All the measuring devices worked accurately.

There was no logical explanation for the dissapearing oil. Where did it vanish to every shipment?

In my next email, I'll show you the cause and the solution. In the meantime, think about it.

But if not, absolutely you'll want to keep reading to discover a new way of thinking, a way to open up doors that have been closed for you to date, a way to get things to work that have never worked for you in the past.

You may be asking, "Marlon, why are you talking about
solving problems? I have bills to pay, mouths to feed
and squeeze pages to get converting!"

And I know how you feel.

One of the problems today is that there are so many things clamoring for your attention.

How do you know WHAT to pay attention to? Where the real point of leverage is?

It's a big problem.

It's critical for you, your future, your relationships, your family, your health, and your finances that you acquire this critical ability to solve problems.

Here is why:

Wen you solve one of your own problems, whether business, marketing or professional, that's a solution you might want to sell to others who have the same problem.

You can either sell your solution or use it to bank "reciprocity." In other words, cause you scratched somebody else's back, the tendency is for them to do the same for you.

I'll give you an example.

Let's tackle problem 1 I opened with:

How do you open doors that are impossible to open?

Back when I wrote sales letters for as much $10,000 a crack, I had a client named Walter "Itsy Bitsy" Hailey.

He'd made $600 million taking 4 companies public. Walter would help people solve ANY problem they had in order to bank reciprocity.

It's a fact that a lot of successful people have problems with their kids. Walter would help them solve problems with their kids.

For example, he'd pull strings and help get someone's kid admitted to a university. Or one time he arranged for eye surgery for someone's daughter with a renowned eye surgeon and flew her there in his jet airplane.

He was also known to help people get their kids into drug recovery programs.

One time he even helped a doctor's wife lose weight. And others to stop smoking!

As a result, Walter obtained business endorsesments from people who were "untouchable" and didn't give endorsements.

He opened doors that were "impossible to open."

This solution is called "compensating in a different form."

Now there are many forms of compensation that are not financial. But I like marketing. So I gave you a financial illustration.

Guess what?

Once you know this principle, you can open all kinds of doors. You can solve all kinds of problems.

You can go places you aren't supposed to be able to go and do things you aren't supposesd to be able to do.

Now, you may say, "But Marlon, I don't have a jet airplane, I can't help get kids into drug recovery, and I"m not worth millions. How can this work for me?"

Well, that's an interesting problem. And I'll present one possible solution at the end of this email.


People gravitate toward those who can solve problems.

Having problems of any sorst -- whether it's money problems, people problems, relationship problems, marketing problems -- having any problems sucks and is painful.

Problems = pain.

People love it when someone else figures out a simple way for them to solve their problem, remove their pain ....

Let's say your church, or charity of choice locally struggles because they can't raise funds.

They have a problem.

They don't have money to send out long direct mail letters to tell their story. Everyone is busy so it's hard to make appointments to solicit funds.

They have a conflict or a contradiction: To raise funds, they need to tell their story. To tell their story, they need people's time, or they need money.

Enter the problem solver.

You swoop in and get 'em ranked stat with Google Places, you set up a fundraising webinar for 'em, and show 'em how to send out a broadcast email to their list sending donors to the webinar.

You do the simplest, easiest things that "old hat" for online entrepreneurs and marketers.

Money comes in.

You're a hero and a genius.

All of a sudden people are attracted to you. They see you differently.

You are NOW a person of value and distinction. You walk a little taller. You feel a little prouder. you have a glint in your eye.

This is the power of being a problem solver with access to simple, easy to understand and use tools that others don't have.

This is the whole key to everything.

No wonder things haven't worked out for you at times in business, at jobs, in your personal life.

You ran into problems, obstacles and events that you just didn't have solutions for.

Why?

Because no one ever gave you a method to solve problems that beats the pants off of brainstorming, which is just a method of trial-and-error problem solving.

This method flat out doesn't work well for most people. But there is a better way.

I'm going to reveal a little trick right now that most people don't know:

You actually don't have to invent solutions to most problems.

Why? Because someone else in another area has already solved the problem. All you do is borrow the solution.

Fortunately, after going through 200,000 patents, this Rogue Russian Inventor found the 40 most common principles that solve problems and documented them.

Then, he boiled that down even further to only 7 steps.

The fly in THAT ointment is that he was an inventor and wrote in Russina.

Unless you read Russian, that's a bit of an issue.

How To Get Affiliates To
Promote The Unpromotable

I started this email with this problem:

How can you get affiliates to send out more emails for your products when they're going to make less money for doing it?

In a minute, I'll show you how to use 1 very simple and easy principle to solve this problem.

In essence, getting affiliates to email for a product they've ALREADY promoted is asking them to promote the unpromotable.

How do you do it?

I ran that problem through my problem-solving formula and came up with a whole legal tablet of solutions.

However, let me share just one principle and solution:

The contradiction is this:

How do you get an email to convert better the second time than the first, when the best buyers have already bought?

That's the essence of the problem.

What's the Ideal Final Result? Imagine that affiliates get your email and send it out a second or third time because they get as much or more in commissions as they
did the first time.

How?

One principle of problem solving is called: "Change the size."

Make it bigger or smaller.

So what you can do is ESCALATE the commission to those who mail a second time. Then ESCALATE it even further if they mail a third time.

So on mailing one they get 50%.

Mailing two: 55%

Mailing three: 60%

Mailing four: 65%

That would be one way to solve it.

Another way would be to ADD additional products on the back end they make commissions on that ONLY repeat mailers get.

That's another way to increase the size of commissions they get.

And that's only one of many possible solutions. You could change the size by combining two principles and changing the COMPENSATION.

So you add additional compensation in a form OTHER than money.

Maybe repeat mailers get a ticket to a seminar or webinar. Or get access to a special product or consultation.

Or maybe send visitors BACK to them.

You get the idea. There are many ways to solve this problem that on the surface appears to be unsolvable.

Let's Solve The Sunflower Oil Problem

Another came out.

Now, using your EXISTING problem solving methods, brainstorming and so forth, did you come up with the answer?

If not, then you immediately can see the value of having a problem solving method that isn't trial-and-error based.

Here is the solution:

The driver hung a bucket inside the tank so that when oil filled it up, 3-liters went into the bucket. Then, when the tank was emptied, the oil stayed in the bucket and the driver later removed
it.

This principle is called "do it in advance" which I discussed in the prior email.

Moving on....

The CAUSE of most of our problems is that we're using outdated problem-solving methods that rely on trial and error.

Now let's talk about the SECRET of turning problems into solutions that can be sold, bartered or used to acquire status and prestige in business, social groups, working relationships and organizations of all types.

Whether it's the job you have, your church, Rotary, garden club, toastmasters, or other charitable organizations, whether it's an offline business, info product business, or other online entrepreneur endeavor, this secret can be of great, if not potentially unlimited
value to you.

1. The problem is using trial-and-error to solve problems which is horribly inneficient.

This is kind of like taking a stab in the dark over and over.

2. The better way is a scientific methodology or system with pre-planned steps proven to unleash solutions.

3. You don't have to stew like a frog in your pot of problems. You can find answers.

4. All info product sellers do is sell solutions to problems.

The PROBLEM is no one tells you HOW to find real solutions that have value.

Instead they teach you to regurgitate information that really doesn't solve anything. It's basic, boring and bland and doesn't really create any unique value for anyone.
Therefore, it isn't perceived as valuable and you have problems getting paid for it.

Imagine that.

Even the most renowned solution seller or what others call a "guru" usually uses trial-and-error problem solving. Thus, with practice a Systems-based problem solver can blow them
away with a far more efficient system.

Best of all, there's no market you can't do this in. Why?

Because every market has problems.

Worried about whether or not you can succeed? Well, there's a massive difference between selling information and selling actual solutions that resolve gnarly problems people are
struggling with this very moment and would give an arm and a leg to solve.

And you'll never run out of those.

Problems will always be with us.

That's about as good as life gets.

And they do it the hard way.

Why The Cause Of Problems Is NOT What You Think

So you think you have problems?

*  Problems with your money?
*  Problems with finding your target market

1.  Just as people every day are taught to be musicians, pianists, doctors and lawyers, even so can the process of creating, inventing and solving problems be taught.

Problems are very difficult to solve when you don’t have the right sequence steps.
It’s just like a safe with a combination.

It’s really hard to open a safe.  Until you have the right combination. Then it takes only SECONDS.
The combination is a matter of knowledge and practice.  Plain and simple.  Anyone can learn to do it.

2.  Once you learn to solve problems, a great deal of opportunity opens up to you in ALL areas of your life. 

The reason is that a person with solutions has social currency in all arenas, not just online marketing.

There are no shortage of problems. There will never be a shortage of problems.  A person who has solutions has value to  anyone and everyone around him or her who has problems and needs solutions.

These solutions can be given away as a way to obtain reciprocity or social favor. Or they can be sold.

3.  Imagine a river.  One bank is the problem. The other bank is the solution.  What you need a BRIDGE that goes across the river from the problem side to the solution side.

4.  The FOUNDATION of ALL problems is a CONTRADICTION
The essence of a problem is creating or doing X WITHOUT Y.

To give a very basic example in online marketing, to get visitors to your website WITHOUT spending a lot of time or money.

Out of 200,000 patents studied, every single invention resolved a contradiction.  That is the essence of an invention and the heart of what you do when you solve a problem.
Another way to state it is that an invention allows for “gain without loss.”

This is the opposite of compromise.  A compromise is not problem solving.  It’s just living with the problem and trying to minimize it. It doesn’t really FIX the problem.

5.  Problem solving is all about how to remove or resolve a contradiction WITHOUT creating a lot of extra cost or effort.

If you can do this, you are a magician.  Fortunately, you don’t have to invent the method yourself!  It has already been invented for you.

All you have to do is use the steps.

6.  Brainstorming is NOT sufficient to remove contradictions
Take any problem you have.

The reason it’s a problem is you’ve ALREADY tried to come up with answers or ways to solve it and couldn’t.

If brainstorming worked, you would have already solved the problem.

The reason brainstorming doesn’t work is you tend to generate ideas at RANDOM which go down paths often in the opposite direction of the solution.

7.  More brainpower doesn’t equal a solution

In studying inventions and people who have resolved contradictions, it has been found that more brains don’t equate to answers.

Most often, the answer is still figured out by ONE person.

8.  The sequence of steps required to solve problems and contradictions are simple and straightforward to follow.

The steps are not difficult or complicated as I’ll illustrate in a second.

9.  After studying 200,000 patents, 40,000 in depth, 40 PRIMARY methods of resolving contradictions were discovered.

Take all the problems in the world, whether problems with machines, people, marketing – or anything else.


There are 40 basic principles that will resolve the vast majority of them.
And you only need to use these principles on a small percentage of problems that don’t easily resolve with the basic formula and steps.

A few years back I found the unlikely answer in the form of an inventor in Russia who was banished by STALIN to a Gulag concentration camp in Siberia. But due to his unusual problem-solving abilities ended up in a coal mine teaching his problem-solving methods to others, instead of doing hard labor as he was supposed to!

You might think he was just a crackpot or good marketer. But in reality, his 7-step problem-solving system is now taught in universities, used by CEO's, those in famous corporations and by world-class inventors and engineers.

However, until now, no one had DECIPHERED this system and brought it down to a level where it could be USED by people like us -- online entrepreneurs, marketers, authors, info product sellers, speakers and so forth.

Finally, I took the time to de-code the System and put it into terms a non-engineer can understand and use. I call MY version of it the "Solve Any Problem" system. I was gonna call it K-Solve which has such a nice ring to it I realized it was a trademark!

So "Solve Any Problem" works just fine.

Here Are 12 Facts About The Event

Fact 1: The cause of problems you can't solve no matter how hard you struggle with them is trial-and-error problem-solving methods, including brainstorming.

Fact 2: There's simply not enough time to find all the possible variations of solutions and try them all out.

Fact 3: Thomas Edison used to solve problems. It does work. But his average invention took 7 years to make, up to 50,000 trial-and-error experiments and a team of 1,000 inventors in his lab. Most of us simply don't have those kinds of resources.

Fact 4: Fortunately, there is a SYSTEM consisting of 7 steps that changes everything. The basis of this system is the removal of the ROOT of any and every problem you're struggling with right this very second, you've ever struggled with or will struggle with in the future -- a contradiction.

Fact 5: Once you identify the contradiction and define the Ideal Final Result, just those 2 steps alone will often solve problems automatically.

Fact 8: Everytime you use these steps you get better and faster at them. Solving problems becomes easier and easier. It's no longer a daunting task and actually becomes challenging if not flat out FUN!

Fact 9: By having the power to unstick your own problems and the problems of others, you gain instant value, prestige and status in the eyes of others. When you have status, prestige and value, you also have power because you have something others don't, and it's obvious and easy to demonstrate.

Have you ever known someone others gravitated to because they had this sense of confidence and competence? Or a certain buzz surrounding them? Behind the scenes, of course, the real workings are that they solve problems better than others, usually from brute force trial-and-error. Fortunately, you don't have to whail away with brute force methods any longer.

And while gaining charisma, a reputation or confidence may sound like a stretch, you build this one problem and one solution at a time. Your confidence, reputation and prestige grows with every solution you easily develop, even to your own surprise.

Fact 10: This ability to solve problems instantly improves your outlook on every area of your life. Whether it's maintaining healthy habits, solving financial issues, creating products others clamor for, becoming a valuable employee, standing out heads and shoulders above others, gaining status in an organization -- all of these powers are easily attained by the
person who knows how to turn problems into solutions.

Fact 11: Once you have solutions others don't and are clamoring for, you can sell, barter, use these solutions to gain status, prestige, publicity, notoriety, money -- or even power if you so desire. These solutions can be sold or bartered. They are the source of "one problem, one solution" products. And the source of the solutions you sell in info products, membership sites and other places.

Fact 12: With this system in hand, you can have value anyplace in any situation, whether business or social. Because of this your income will likely increase in proportion to that. Not to mention the prestige, status, feelings of power. And the benefit of eliminating frustration and disappointment and not having to bang your head against the wall with outdated trial-and-error problem-solving methods. Since the world will NEVER run out of problems, you'll always have value, and thus have more confidence in your future. And feel more in control of your ability to predict your future and create the results you want.

As always, this was another great presentation by Marlon. Here are some other lessons that I got out from the presentation. In defining the problem and removing the contradiction I realised that a lot of the problems we face in life are how we perceive them and how we approach life in general (i.e. whether we see the glass as half full or half empty). In other words what we perceived to be problems were in hindsight not problems at all. If we are able to apply the steps and solve the problems we encounter in life we will paradoxically NOT have any problems.

Why?

Because then we will begin to see problems as Opportunities to be solved. That to me would be a paradigm shift to one’s approach to life in general, and one which potentially opens the gateway to lasting success and happiness.

Just my two cents… and now I am off to look at the website and learn more. Thank you Marlon.
